Nancy Walker was the individual who made famous the Bounty paper towel promotional tagline "the quicker picker-upper" with a nearly two-decade (1970-1990) run as Rosie, the diner waitress, in what were considered very slick TV commercials. She was an actress that made dozens of television guest appearances and had a number of very successful recurring TV roles as a contributing performer. With these the type of jobs, she had steady and enjoyable work year after year.

Overall her career spanned five decades and included comedies, dramas, and television variety shows such as "Faye Emerson's Wonderful Town", "The Garry Moore Show", "The Carol Burnett Show", etc. Between 1973 and 1987 for her roles on the TV shows "McMillan & Wife", "Rhoda", and "The Golden Girls", she received eight Emmy nominations and four possibilities at winning a Golden Globe.
