Richard III, the final ruler of the Plantagenet dynasty, was killed on 22 August 1485 in the Battle of Bosworth Field. His body was lost to history because he was buried in a standard grave in Greyfriars Friary in Leicester England. The Church was demolished in 1538 and King Richard's grave was lost to History until it was discovered under a parking lot in Leicester. Once his skeleton was exhumed, it was examined and ultimately identified by DNA from one of his descendants, Michael Ibsen, who also provided his casket. Of course it took 2 years of arguing about where to bury his remains, he was finally laid to rest at Leicester Cathedral. Another distant relative, actor Benedict Cumberbatch, read aloud this Poem by Carol Ann Duffy:

"My bones, scripted in light, upon cold soil,

a human braille. My skull, scarred by a crown,

emptied of history. Describe my soul

as incense, votive, vanishing; your own

the same. Grant me the carving of my name."
