Which file extension indicates only graphics files?
The BMP file format, also known as bitmap image file or device independent bitmap (DIB) file format or simply a bitmap, is a raster graphics image file format used to store bitmap digital images, independently of the display device (such as a graphics adapter), especially on Microsoft Windows and OS/2 operating systems.
The BMP file format is capable of storing 2D digital images of arbitrary width, height, and resolution, both monochrome and color, in various color depths, and optionally with data compression, alpha channels, and color profiles.

julie oconnor, nope. DOC files can contain graphics but they generally don’t contain *ONLY* graphics, which is what the question asked.

The only thing that I can say, about the write-up that I read, after answering the question. The computer technology of today, is big business. No matter what technological changes that are made to computers. The technology that's intertwined into "social media" will has payoff big dividends for major companies.

Easy one for any Computer Science majors out there... I was working with BMP files way back in the mid 90s when we developed one of the 1st Video capture and playback devices (AzeenaVision 500). We used Motion-JPEG (MPEG was very expensive at the time in terms of cpu utilizations and resources) and stored in AVI format (using BMP DIB headers).
