During his courtroom trial in the 1971 film "Bananas", Woody Allen as Fielding Mellish says, " I object, Your Honor! This trial is a travesty! It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham! I call a mistrial Your Honor! Do you realize there is not one homosexual in the jury?"

Judge: "Yes there is!"

Mellish: "Really? Which one? Is it that big guy at the end?"

In this classic comedy, Mellish is trying to defend himself from a series of very incriminating witnesses, including a reigning Miss America and a middle-aged African-American woman claiming to be J. Edgar Hoover in disguise. One of the witnesses will provide testimony favorable to Mellish. The court clerk, when asked to read back this testimony, replies however with an entirely different, wholly unfavorable rendition of what was said. Mellish is eventually sentenced to prison, but his sentence is suspended on the condition that he does not move into the judge's neighborhood.

The film "Bananas" is about a neurotic guy Mellish who follows his dream girl (Louise Lasser) to the fictitious Latin American nation of San Marcos. He becomes a freedom fighter for a revolutionary leader. Next, the new leader goes 'bananas', leaving Mellish in command to bargain with the USA. Things will get more screwed up!

The film was directed and written by Woody Allen. It was produced by Jack Grossberg and cost 2 million US dollars. It made 10 million US dollars at the box office.
