Which Gemini space mission was launched first, Gemini 6 or Gemini 7?

Gemini 7 was launched on a long duration (14 days) space flight on December 4, 1965.

Gemini 6 was launched on December 15, 1965. The main purpose of this launch was to catch up to Gemini 7 and rendezvous in flight, paving the way for subsequent space flights to rendezvous, a necessity for getting to the moon.

Gemini 6 was to launch on December 12, however a failure in an engine shut the launch down automatically.

Had no idea, but no point asking the question if they were just routine consecutively numbered launches, and simultaneous launches seemed improbable.

The rendezvous between 6a and 7 was successful with the spaceships coming within 1 foot of each other. They could have docked if they had been so equipped.

Didn't anyone research this before submitting it. The question is an impossibility because as others have pointed out, there was no Gemini 6, it had been cancelled.
