The longest bone of our body is femur, or thighbone. It's a bone of the leg which is the closest to the center of the body. All tetrapod vertebrates which can walk or jump have this bone: land mammals, reptiles (lizards), birds, amphibians (frogs, for example).

Being the longest one, the femur is also the strongest bone of the body. Vertebrates with four legs have the femur only in the rear legs.
