Which language is the official language in Australia?

I would consider English as the official language, as an Australian I have tutored ESL to newcomers to our country so if English isn’t the official language I guess it must be slang Straylian.

National language is not the same as the official language. Just as in the U S there is no official language and this is a good thing.

I thought this was a trick question so I used my double chance. I picked no official language and was right. My second answer would have been English.

Surely someone must be joking. I was born in Australia and lived here my whole life. English is the primary language taught in schools and all business is conducted in English. While we have many migrants who speak a variety of languages ENGLISH IS THE PRIMARY LANGUAGE.

I live in Queensland and say 'dance' not 'darnce' 'plant' and not 'plarnt' 'grant' and not 'grarnt' and 'France' not 'Frarnce'. When I lived in the Northern Territory, one could always pick someone from South Australia as they pronounced the same words with the 'ar' sound (darnce etc).

We do not have any official language or religion enshrined in our constitution as some states (countries) do. The given answer is correct.
