Which metal is the most reactive?
Francium is the most reactive metal. Reactivity in metals increase as you proceed down and to the left on the periodic table. Francium is located in the lower left hand corner of the periodic table. Francium has a large electron cloud. It only has to lose one electron from it's outer shell to react. Since this one electron is so far away from the positively charged nucleus, in atomic terms, it can easily lose this one negatively charged electron to other atoms.

Francium not familiar with it. I picked lithium because I remembered it exploding on contact with water from high school in the 1960s where chemistry was rather more fun than it is to say and a lot less safety conscious

The most reactive metal on the periodic table is Francium. Trace quantities only are found in Uranium and Thorium ore and it decays rapidly due to its radioactivity. However minute quantities have been produced in the laboratory, so for all practical purposes, the most reactive metal is Caesium.
