Which month does summer in Australia begin?
The main feature of the Australian climate is in the beginning of summer in December and the start of winter in June.
Summer day’s temperature there rarely rises above +30 °C (86 °F). But the main distinctive feature of Australian summer is dry weather. The complete absence of rain and dry period sometimes lasts for a very long time.
The other seasons are defined by grouping the calendar months in the following way:
Spring - September, October and November.
Autumn - March, April and May.
These definitions reflect the lag in heating and cooling as the sun appears to move southward and northward across the equator.

Very poorly written explanation- this really should not have passed review. And, btw, if you think summer temperatures in Australia rarely rise above 30C, you’re wrong.

Whoever created this question needs to broaden their research - the website used is full of nonsense. Coming from Central Queensland, I know that summer temperatures in the low 40s are regular, as are afternoon tropical storms.

Hello! We wish temps. In summer rarely rise above 30c. That would be wonderful. Mid to high 40’s last year were not uncommon! One day South Australia was the hottest place on the planet! Badly researched or outdated information!

As an Aussie, I appreciate that someone thought of us , but the explanation is not as accurate as it should be, eg summer temperatures in Queensland are seldom under 30 degrees Celsius, but I guess that it’s the thought that counts.

Who the hell wrote this explanation? It's a totally generalised assessment of a vast country with so many diverse weather patterns and conditions. For a start, summer temperatures in Queensland alone rarely go BELOW 30 degrees in summer! It's still only spring here and we haven't had a day UNDER 25 for over a month now. Clearly their research is found badly wanting.

Absence of rain is not correct. Summer tends to be when intense heavy rains occurs and flooding happens in many areas.

Selective copy paste as the website mentions the heat in the northern states first before stating tourist are better off in southern states. Temps are from Canberra

I live in Western NSW and it's great when the temperature gets below 30 degrees but that doesn't happen much. It's mostly in the high 30's or into the 40's. Now in Autumn we have beautiful days in the mid to high 20's.

Completely wrong about temperature. In the outback (Uluru, Kings Canyon etc.) the temperature can rise to about 126 degrees F. in the summer. We had to have at least 1 liter of water for each person before we could go hiking in Kings Canyon. The ranger checked before we could start. Very stark but beautiful. The day before we arrived they had the first rain in 5 years. Would love to go back but 19 hours of flight time from the east coats was tiring. Love the Aussies. So very nice.

Where did you get Your information from? The temp where I live in Queensland regularly gets above 40 degrees and rarely gets below 30 degrees of a night
