Dennis Rodman (born 1961) is an American former basketball player whose nickname is “the Worm”. Throughout his career, he was known for his fierce defensive and rebounding abilities.

His listed height is 6 ft 7 in (2.01 m) with a recorded weight at 228 lb (103 kg). He played for different professional teams from 1986 until 2006. His career highlights and awards are multiple, including membership on the Chicago Bulls NBA champion team five times. His typical position was at the small forward position in his early years before becoming a power forward.

Both on the court and off the court, his life has been marked and marred with an unhappy childhood, an aborted suicide attempt in 1993, plus numerous notorious and controversial antics. He repeatedly dyed his hair (picture) in artificial colors, had multiple piercings and tattoos, and was known to periodically disrupt games by clashing with opposing players and officials.

One example of his unique behavior was his wedding dress, worn to promote his 1996 autobiography ‘Bad As I Wanna Be’. He also attracted international attention for his visits to North Korea and his befriending the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in 2013.

In 2017, Rodman returned to North Korea on what was initially described as a sports-related visit to the country, “My purpose is to go over there and try to see if I can keep bringing sports to North Korea.”
