Concerning the American TV dramas: Barnaby Jones, The Fugitive, and The Streets of San Francisco, they were all Quinn Martin productions. The CBS television show Mannix was a Desilu Productions (1967) / Paramount Television, Inc. (1968–1975). The series ran for 8 years, covered 194 episodes, and was the last show from Desilu Productions. After the show was canceled in 1975, only 130 episodes were seen in syndication in the United States. The remaining 64 episodes that were seen on TV comprised all of season 1, most of season 7, and all of season 8.

The detective series Mannix was an action-packed detective drama. It was about a tough and cynical private investigator and starred Golden Globe winner Mike Connors in the title role. Joe Mannix was seen as a hard-boiled and gritty detective who constantly defied rules and regulations and was able to take on a flurry of fist fights, high-speed car chases, and bullet wounds in stride. Also part of the fun and enjoyment of the show concerned the fact that Joe Mannix drove an impressive series of muscle cars including a Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Camaro.

Mannix with the help of a loyal secretary Peggy Fair (Gail Fisher) was always able to find justice and get his man (the often clever criminal).
