Which of the following is an actual name of an American candy bar?
In 1978 the Hershey Company first rolled out Whatchamacallit bars, rice crisps and peanut butter covered in chocolate. The name was devised by Patricia Volk, author of 'STUFFED: Adventures of a Restaurant Family', when she was the associate creative director at Doyle Dane & Bernbach - today known as DDB Worldwide, an international public relations and marketing firm - and was in charge of new brands on the Hershey account. Hershey uniquely affixed it with a tagline: You Can Ask For it By Name.
In 2009 Hershey rolled out the Thingamajig, very similar to Whatchamacallit, but with the addition of chocolate crisps. Sales and marketing for it were discontinued by 2012. However, Hershey brought it back in 2021 but with a different name, Whozeewhatzit. It was the winning submission of a national naming contest, by one Lisa M. of Framingham, Massachusetts, who also won $5,000 and a year's supply of the candy bar.
