Romania is the country with the shortest coastline on the Black Sea at 140 miles (225 km). Bulgaria's coastline is 220 miles (354 km), Georgia's coastline is 193 miles (310 km) and the Ukraine's coastline is 1729 miles (2782 km).
The Black Sea is a body of water and marginal sea of the Atlantic Ocean between Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Western Asia. It is supplied by a number of major rivers, such as the Danube, Dnieper, Dniester, and Don.
The Black Sea has an area of 436,400 km2 (168,500 sq mi) which does not include the Sea of Azov, a maximum depth of 2,212 m (7,257 ft), and a volume of 547,000 km3 (131,000 cu mi).
Southwesterly the Bosporus Strait connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, and the Strait of the Dardanelles connects the Sea to Marmara to the Aegean Sea region of the Mediterranean. Northeasterly it is connected to the Sea of Azov by the Kerch Strait.
The Romanian holiday resorts stretch along the coast from the Danube Delta at the northern end down to the Bulgarian coast in the south.The most important resort is Mamaia, situated north of the city of Constanța on a narrow land slice that separates the Black Sea and Lake Siutghiol.The main cities in the region are Romania's largest port Constanța, Mangalia, Năvodari and Sulina which are located in Constanta county.
