Which of these groups of states lie in the Midwest as defined by the U.S. Census?

The Midwest is a region in the North Central part of the U.S. It was defined by the United States Census Bureau as one of four regions in the United States. It is made up of these 12 States, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and last but not least Ohio.

Actually none of these are really correct. I agree with the previous comments. Ohio and Montana are not Midwest states. Which begs the question "Is there any oversight to which questions are offered to us?" Quality control would be appreciated.

I was really confused when I didn't see Illinois as one of the states listed. I scrolled down here to complain. On the way down I read the paragraph that listed all 12 of the States. Was glad to see Illinois was included. The point is...I was mad, all worked up & ready to complain until I read the WHOLE answer. Maybe in life I need to learn to hear all of what someone has to say before I speak. Life lesson learned.

Greg Sanza, The first one is incorrect, because it contains Wyoming. The second and fourth are incorrect, because they contain Montana. The other states in them are valid. Thank you, Christine, James's wife
