A character which is not played by Peter Sellers in the 1964 film "Dr. Strangelove" is Major T. J. Kong. Kong is played by veteran Western actor and real-deal cowboy Slim Pickens. Major T. J. "King" Kong is the heart of the movie. People can't help but root for him and his intrepid B-52 crew as they struggle against all odds to achieve their mission. The bad part is that their mission is to drop nuclear bombs and these bombs will destroy a large part of the world.

In any other circumstance, Major Kong would be the real hero of the film. But since he's unwittingly carrying out the misguided orders of General Jack Ripper, Kong ends up being the most destructive antagonist in the movie.

The entire film is about what could happen if the wrong person pushed the wrong button. This situation is then played for laughs. U.S. Air Force General Ripper goes completely insane; he sends his bomber wing to destroy the U.S.S.R. He thinks that the communists are conspiring to pollute the "precious bodily fluids" of the American people.

Peter Sellers in "Dr. Strangelove" plays: Group Captain Lionel Mandrake, a British RAF exchange officer, President Merkin Muffley, the President of the United States, and Dr. Strangelove, the wheelchair-using nuclear war expert and former Nazi from Germany.
