Which of these land animals is the fastest?

Ostriches are the earth’s largest, tallest birds and are known for being flightless. What many people may not know is that these animals run really fast – up to 60 mph. In Africa, humans even hop on their backs and use them in races, as they can maintain a 60 mph speed for half an hour and cover many miles of ground. With their powerful legs and wings, they can take 3.5 meter strides through the air, and even when not provoked by other animals or humans, they are often seen running.

The greyhound can run at about 45 mph while the hare and the lion can reach 50 mph.

My research says the lion at 50---ostrich at 44

According to three or four sources the lion was listed as faster than the ostrich. Did not find the opposite true.

kwkurtz, another wrong again. You are confusing mammal and animal. If birds are not animals I take it you think they are plants or rocks ( vegetable or Mineral) perhaps you can educate me as to which you think birds are, and then go educate yourself on what they are
