Which of these water bodies does not border the African continent?
Africa is the second-largest and second-most-populous continent in the world, behind Asia. It occupies 20% of the planet's land area and 6% of its total surface area, covering around 30.3 million km2 (11.7 million square miles) when adding nearby islands. As of 2021, it has 1.4 billion residents, or nearly 18% of the world's population. With a median age of 19.7 in 2012, whereas the global average was 30.4, Africa has the youngest population of all the continents.
The continent is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Isthmus of Suez and the Red Sea to the northeast, the Indian Ocean to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The continent includes Madagascar and various archipelagos.
