Which one of these cities/towns is NOT part of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area)?
The GTA is made up of communities that are generally within 30 minutes of the Toronto boundaries.
The population of the GTA is almost 7 million and has a density of about 850 per square kilometre or 2200 per square mile.
Hamilton is just outside that area at about 45 minutes from Toronto. However, a new boundary area has been created to include Hamilton, the GTHA, Greater Toronto Hamilton Area.
The Hamilton area population is about 750,000 making the GTHA population at almost 8 million. That is almost the size of New York City.

If you are heading to the GTA, you should plan to visit the AGO and the ROM by TTC.

To make my point Ajax is 50km east of Toronto and takes about 45 minutes to drive on the very busy highway 401 in non rush hour traffic Hamilton is a 50 minutes drive on the QEW in non rush hour traffic

I also disagree and I'm from the GTA!! AJAX is in Durham Region quite a ways east of the GTA and east of Pickering!!!

I disagree. However, I am from Winnipeg and we think Hamilton is part of the GTA. - smile
