Mia and Vincent look like they win the dance contest at the Jack Rabbit Slim's LA, California restaurant; they have the winners' trophy in the next scene of the 1994 movie "Pulp Fiction" once their dance is finished. The fictional Jack Rabbit Slim’s restaurant is the place where Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) will take Vincent Vega (John Travolta) for dinner. This is the place (Jack Rabbit Slim’s) which Vincent describes as a “wax museum with a pulse”. The people who go to this restaurant describe it as "just about the coolest place ever".

With slot car race tracks, staff liked to dress up as movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Mamie Van Doren, and James Dean. Some of the booths were fashioned out of classic cars, and this gave the restaurant a certain appeal which was right up the alley of many of the patrons. These were things that could only happen in the movies. When this film was made, Jack Rabbit Slim's of LA was created solely for the purpose of filming the movie.

Accordingly, the dance contest which Mia and Vincent won was just another item included in the movie to give it depth and make the characters more simpatico with the audience. All of the fictional items worked; "Pulp Fiction" was a top-grossing film at the box office.
