Which product brand has the slogan, "Good to the Last Drop"?
In 1915 the Cheek-Neal Coffee Company began using the "good to the last drop" slogan to advertise their product brand, Maxwell House Coffee. On a visit to Nashville in 1907, legend has it that President Teddy Roosevelt declared that Maxwell House Coffee was "good to the last drop". When ads were first used, they didn't make any mention of the fact that Theodore Roosevelt was the phrase's originator.
Currently Maxwell House is a brand of coffee manufactured by a like-named division of Kraft Foods. This division is parent company of General Foods Corporation. This brand of coffee was first introduced in 1892 by wholesale grocer Joel Owsley Cheek (1852 -1935). Because of its sales and the perpetual popularity of the slogan "good to the last drop", executives in the company say, "We have no plans to ever stop using the phrase ("good to the last drop"). It was coined by the 26th President of the U.S. who was one of the brightest and best to ever perform the job."
Additionally another reason the slogan is used is because it is a good reminder that the coffee was named in honor of the former Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. President Roosevelt was one of at least seven U.S. Presidents and other prominent guests to stay at the Maxwell House, where Maxwell House Coffee was served until 1961 when the hotel was destroyed by fire.
