While still aged 15, Simon & Garfunkel had a recording contract with Sid Prosen's independent label Big Records. Using the name Tom & Jerry (Garfunkel naming himself Tom Graph, a reference to his interest in mathematics) and Simon naming himself Jerry Landis (after the surname of Sue Landis, a girl he had dated) the single "Hey Schoolgirl" was released, with the B-side "Dancin' Wild", in 1957

Don't ask me how I knew this since it they went by Tom and Jerry in '57' when I was 1yr old.But as a teen I loved Simon and Garfunkel and must have learned this trivia back then in the late 60's-early 70's.I've always loved learning new things and history.

Tom and Jerry were part of actual pseudonyms used by Simon and Garfunkel on their first (hit) recording!!!!! Thanks for teaching me this fact today!!!!!
