Buenos Aires (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires) is the capital city of Argentina. "Buenos Aires" can be translated as "fair winds" or "good airs". It is nicknamed the Paris of South America and was established on 2nd February 1536 by Pedro de Mendoza. The Spanish sailor arrived in the Río de la Plata on the boat "Santa Maria de los Buenos Aires", which translates as the "Holy Virgin Mary of the Good Winds".

Buenos Aires is a multicultural city that is home to multiple ethnic and religious groups. Several languages are spoken in the city in addition to Spanish. This is because since the 19th century, the city has been a major recipient of millions of immigrants from all over the world. Thus, Buenos Aires is considered one of the most diverse cities of the Americas.
