Which three elements are known as the primary nutrients for plant growth?
There are 17 elements that are essentials for plant growth. Nurients are divided in to two main groups depending on how much is needed by the plant. Nutrients needed in large amounts are called macronutrients. Nutrients needed in small amounts are called micronutrients. The macro nutrients are subdivided into primary nutrients and secondary nutrients. The primary nutrients are Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. The second nutrients are Magnesium, Sulfur and Calcium.

Rubbish - as 'nutrients in terms of what actually constitutes the plant it's C, O and H. As additional nutrients from soilto make the building blocks of cell composition, then yes this answer suffices!

No, the nutrients are all obtained from the soil, carbon is taken through the leaf stomata as co2 and then photosynthesised into sugar, oxygen is the biproduct of this and sent into the air.Jean Pierre Vincent,

Catherine Gillespie Mullins, Plants do need oxygen to survive. They respire (take in oxygen, give off carbon dioxide) the same way that animals do. The difference is that during the day, plants also perform photosynthesis, in which they take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen.
