A 1950s TV sitcom "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" was one where the star (Oswald George "Ozzie" Nelson, March 1906 – June 1975) was also a creator, producer, director, and head writer. The series ran from 1952 until its last television episode in 1966. In total 435 TV episodes were produced.

Because of the nature of the show, Ozzie Nelson as the creator found it was good to also be a producer, director, and co-writer of most of the show's clever and popular episodes. Along with his brother, Don Nelson, who was also one of the writers, Ozzie was very hands-on and involved with every aspect of the TV sitcom series.

The others three individuals (Desi Arnaz, George Burns, and Danny Thomas) were all either actors, writers, and producers of television network shows. But, none of these men ever performed all the duties that were handled by Nelson on his show.
