Canada and the United States of America share the longest international border in the world with a total length of 8,890 Kilometers. The second longest is Russia and Kazakhstan followed by Chile and Argentina. There are over 100 land border crossings between Canada and the USA as well as several ferry crossings. Before 2007 a passport was not required to cross between the two countries. This border is often referred to as "the longest undefended border".
