Which type of weapon is used in sambo?

Sambo is a Soviet martial art, an internationally-practised combat sport, and a recognized style of amateur wrestling included by UWW in the World Wrestling Championships along with Greco-Roman wrestling and freestyle wrestling.

It originated in the Russian SFSR in the Soviet Union. The word sambo is an acronym of the romanization "samozashchita bez oruzhiya", which literally translates to 'self-defence without weapons'. The correct, official English spelling, approved by USA Wrestling and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, is SOMBO.

I did training in both Sambo and judo starting from 12 years old. For your information Sambo contains inside almost all basic wrestling techniques from traditional wrestling styles of former Soviet Union republics.Man whose create Sambo Anatoly Kharlampiyev travel to all former USSR republics and learned the traditional wrestling techniques of each one of them and,combined with judo created Sambo.

SeasonedAngel, Same here, and for the same reason that you state. I'd like to know what all those stars are for though and do they serve any practical purpose. I've got over 30,000 of them and would like to trade some for useful hints or something

Sambo is not ranked very high in effectiveness in any listing. Typically, the top ranking marital arts is most listings would be Krav Maga and MMA.

Charles Hunt, Perhaps you misconstrued my remark? It is Replace Question that I shall NEVER EVER use, though other 3 types of hints are used by me. If I definitely don't know an answer (quite often) will at least attempt to guess, so will be able to read answer & write~up & learn.
