General George S. Patton Jr. who was born on November 11, 1885 and died on December 21, 1945 has been called, "Old Blood and Guts". He was a senior officer of the United States Army, who commanded the United States Seventh Army in the Mediterranean and European theaters of World War II. He is best known for his leadership of the United States Third Army in France and Germany following the Allied invasion of Normandy in June 1944.

Patton died from injuries suffered not in battle but in a freak car accident. He suffered a broken neck in the car accident and within two weeks, later died. He was 60 years old. Descended from a long line of military men; he graduated from the West Point Military Academy in 1909.

Also, it is said that he believed in reincarnation. It was reported that Patton actually said that he would return after his death to once again lead armies into battle.
