The 'Toronto Blue Jays' are a Canadian professional baseball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The 'Blue Jays' compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL), in the East Division. Home games are played at the Rogers Centre.

The 'Blue Jays' were established as a team in 1977 and currently wear uniforms that include the official colors of royal blue, navy blue, a smidgeon of red, and white, for both their home games at Rogers Centre or their games played in other MLB teams' cities, commonly referred to as 'away games'. Often their nickname is used when referrring to the team, simply the 'Jays'. Twice the 'Jays' have won the World Series title in both 1992 and again in 1993.

The 'Blue Jays' name originates from the bird of the same name. Blue is also the traditional color of two of Toronto's other professional sports teams- the ice hockey team called the 'Toronto Maple Leafs' and the Canadian football team called the 'Argonauts'.

The 'Blue Jays' played their first game on April 7, 1977 against the 'Chicago White Sox' before a home crowd of 44,649 fans. The game is now best remembered for the minor snowstorm which began just before the game started. Toronto won the snowy affair 9-5, led by Doug Ault's two home runs.
