Trust no one is sound advice in any age of fraud, but it is especially true when unscrupulous people and Ponzi schemes (scam business deals) dominate many of the financial deals that occur in the world. Back in 1928, Agatha Christie at that time said "where large sums of money are involved, it is advisable to trust no one." She was right. During 1928, Christie and her husband, Archie divorced while fraud was booming in the UK. Her quote came straight from her mouth because she had personal reasons for her statement.

When the world is facing a bad economic crisis, what had been concealed is finally unearthed with proper investigations by appropriate authorities and police officials. Added to which, certain types of fraud tend to thrive when the financial deals are going bad or getting tough. The times are desperate and lead to desperate measures. People are living in a society when big-ticket dishonest money is not made by selling stolen goods to the public. The money is mostly made when it is laundered from the ill-gotten gains of a multi-million-dollar Ponzi scheme.

Certainly, the advice in the quote by Agatha Christie is good and should not to be ignored; there is no reason not to apply it.
