ZZ Top is an American rock band that formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. The band is comprised of guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbons (the band's leader, main lyricist, and musical arranger), bassist and co-lead vocalist Dusty Hill, and drummer Frank Beard.The band is known for Hill and Gibbons' long beards. Despite his name, Frank Beard usually wears only a mustache.

ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and has garnered 11 gold records and seven platinum records. Their 1983 album Eliminator remains the group's most commercially successful record, selling over 10 million units. ZZ Top also ranks 80th in U.S. album sales, with 25 million units.

Or it could be that ZZ is a very popular band and we know the members fairly well because we are fans. I grew up and literally personall knew a lot of the bands in person. I used to hang out in some of the ware houses when they practised. Some of my girlfriends were their girlfriends. I was friends with Iron butterfly, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac. I went to many concert and pop festivals. Many of them used to play at my local disco when they were still starting out. There souldn't be asumptions over bands. It is quite the given....Also the play on words kind of gives it away.....Beard has no beard. We used to joke about it.

tdelisi, Don't be so cynical. If you've ever seen them play, either live or on television, you'd know that both guitarists have beards, leaving only the drummer since there is no organist. It's not really necessary to know their names to answer correctly.

tdelisi, actually it is common knowledge and a standing joke that the only one without a beard is called beard most people have known this for decades

Dusty Hill passed away July 28, 2021. ZZ Top's lineup had not changed since 1969. R.I.P. Dusty--you will be sorely missed.

ZZ Top, "that lil' old band from Texas", is one of the biggest rock bands in music history. For a while in the 80's-90's they were dubbed as the greatest and most popular group in the world, and still do sold-out tours from time to time. Of course, in Texas they are icons and they all still live there. fyi - Frank Beard originally went by the first name "Rube" believe it or not, and that's how he was billed on ZZ's first 2 albums back in '71-'73. He then dropped Rube for his actual name as he said it sounded lame and dumb and definitely not Texas Cool, which they all are. ZZ is pure Texas rock and blues-rock and the best at their craft. If you haven't been listening to them for the past 50 years you've been missing something special.

Had to get logical here. Whenever I have seen these guys, I always see beards. So it would have to be the drummer, because the cameras are not focused on him but rather on the front singers. Ta da and that is how I do that. Yay me.
