Who did Anne Boleyn lose her head over?
Anne Boleyn was born circa 1501, likely in Bickling (Norfolk), England. She was the second wife of King Henry VIII—a scandalous marriage, given that he had been denied an annulment from his first wife by the Roman Church, and that his mistress was Anne's sister, Mary. Thusly, King Henry VIII broke from the Church to marry Anne. She gave birth to a daughter, but could not conceive a son.
On May 19, 1536, Anne Boleyn was executed on false charges of incest, witchcraft, adultery and conspiracy against the king. Her daughter, Elizabeth, emerged as one of England's greatest queens.

I have stood right next to the spot where she had her head removed by sword not axe she paid the executioner to do a clean cut ,but records show it took two strikes to remove it ..In the Tower of London there is a chapel where a talk is given by one of the beefeaters telling the account of it ,most of the high ups heads were buried under the chapel flagstone floor and their bodies buried in Smithfield , the story goes when Queen Victoria heard this she had the skulls reburied with their bodies at Smithfield If they got the right skulls and bodies in order is not known for sure . Just thought some of you would like to know these facts ....it's a very entertaing day at the Tower and really worth tagging on to one of the many beefeater tours round all the buildings. Crown Jewels kept there. A suit of King Henerys armour is on display at 20 years old he was only a small man ...( with a lot of power )

Dave Walser...Actually, if you read her Wikipedia page, our says, on there, that the sword only took one swing, and nothing at all about her paying the executioner!

Cranmer, who was at Lambeth Palace, was reported to have broken down in tears after telling Alexander Ales: "She who has been the Queen of England on earth will today become a Queen in heaven."

Dave Walser, Totally agree. The tower is an amazing place. I specifically went looking for the plaque attesting to the botched and terrible decapitation of Lady Margaret Pole who had been very close to Henry in his formative years . Didn't save her from execution though!
