Who directed the movie "The Goonies"?

Hey You Guys!!! The movie "The Goonies" was a 1985 film directed by Richard Donner. It was about a group of misfit kids whose families are on the verge of losing their homes to make room for a golf course. When they find a treasure map for One Eyed Willie's "rich stuff", it sends them all on an adventurous race to find the gold first before the Fratellis,a group of goons who recently broke out of jail. Though Spielberg didn't direct the movie, it was adapted from a story he wrote. The movie grossed 65 million in theaters and became a cult classic.

Richard Donner began his career in the early fifties directing commercials. He then directed the TV western show "Wanted: Dead or Alive" starring Steve McQueen and the TV western "The Rifleman" starring Chuck Conners.It wasn't until 1976 that he would have his break-through film, the supernatural thriller "The Omen". That would lead to other successful films such "Superman" starring Christopher Reeve, the Lethal Weapon series and The X-Men series as well.
