Who duetted with Nicole Kidman on the 2001 UK No.1 single "Somethin' Stupid"?
"Somethin' Stupid" written by C. Carson Parks became a number one UK single for the Australian actress Nicole Kidman and the British singer Robbie Williams in 2001. The song was originally recorded in 1966 by Parks and his wife Gaile Foote, as Carson and Gaile, but a 1967 version by Frank and Nancy Sinatra made it an international hit, reaching number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the UK Singles Chart.
Williams recorded a cover version of the song with Kidman for his 2001 album "Swing When You're Winning". In December of that year, he released "Somethin' Stupid" as the album's lead song. The single quickly topped the charts and became the UK Christmas number one. Despite its late release, "Somethin' Stupid" was the 30th-best-selling single of 2001 in the UK.
Robbie Williams (born 1974) has sold more than 70 million records worldwide. He came to fame with the group Take That in 1990 but left in 1995 to start performing as a solo artist. In 2010, Williams briefly rejoined the band to release a new album, which became the second fastest-selling album of all time in UK chart history.
