Young Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler (April 20, 1889, Braunau am Inn – April 30, 1945, Berlin) was a German Nazi politician of Austrian origin, Chancellor and dictator of Nazi Germany from 1933 until his death. As the so-called Leader (German: Führer), he was responsible for the crimes of the Nazi regime, especially for the murder of Jews, Roma, Poles and other Slavs, and the disabled. In the Holocaust alone, six million Jews were murdered. At first, he achieved territorial gains and concessions from other states through an aggressive policy, but in 1939, by attacking Poland, he provoked World War II, which claimed approximately 40 million lives in Europe. In the war, Germany ultimately suffered a crushing defeat.
