Peter Lorre is in the picture. He was a well-known Hungarian-American actor, who had his breakthrough in Germany in the late 1920s. His first works were several plays and musicals, then he began filming. Lorre caused an international sensation in the 1931 German drama-thriller M (1931), in which he portrayed a serial killer who preys on little girls. Today the film is considered a classic and one of the best known Lorre's works.

The actor was born on the 26th of June, 1904, in Rózsahegy, Austro-Hungary. His birth name was László Löwenstein. He started acting on stage at the age of 17 at home and then moved to Germany. As a Jew, he left Germany after 1933. His first English language film was Alfred Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934) made in Great Britain. Eventually settling in Hollywood, he later became a featured player in many Hollywood crime and mystery films.
