The 1989 World Snooker Championship (also referred to as the 1989 Embassy World Snooker Championship for the purposes of sponsorship) was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 15 April–1 May 1989 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England.

Steve Davis won in the final against John Parrott. Davis won by the biggest margin ever at a World Snooker Championship when he beat John Parrott 18–3 in the final to win his sixth title to equal Ray Reardon's total since the competition was re-launched in 1969.

The prize fund for the was winner was £105,000 and the runner-up £63,000.
