In the 1990 Carrie Fisher film "Postcards From the Edge", Annette Bening played a starlet named Evelyn Ames. She was someone who was having sex with Jack Faulkner played by Dennis Quaid. He was the same guy who was romantically involved with the chief star of the film, actress Suzanne Vale (Meryl Streep).

The movie provides a good adaptation of Carrie Fisher's blistering confessional 1987 novel. It is adapted from her best-seller about a woman who becomes addicted to drugs while pursuing a somewhat successful Hollywood acting career.

When the performance provided by Annette Bening is seen, it is a funny and adroit one to watch on a big movie screen.
