Who said: "If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit!"?
The attorney in the O.J. Simpson trial who said: "If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit!", referring to a bloody glove connected to the murder, was Johnnie Cochran. Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. (aka Johnnie Cochran) was born in October 1937 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He died from a brain tumor on March 29, 2005 in his home in Los Angeles, California at age 67. During his closing arguments in the Simpson trial, Cochran uttered the now very famous phrase noted above.
Cochran was an American lawyer, and he is best known for his part in the acquittal of O. J. Simpson for the murder of Simpson's ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. Cochran is also well known because he represented many different celebrities and victims. Cochran became known as an early advocate for the victims of police brutality. Cochran helped Sean Combs (known by the stage names Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Puffy, or Diddy, an American actor, rapper, singer, and record producer) win an acquittal after being indicted on stolen weapons charges and bribery in 2001. After that case, Cochran decided to retire from the active practice of law.
