Who was Kurt Tank?
Kurt Waldemar Tank (24 February 1898 – 5 June 1983) was a German aeronautical engineer and aircraft designer. He was the chief engineer of Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau GmbH, and he designed many famous aircraft, like Focke-Wulf 44 Stieglitz, Focke-Wulf 190, Focke-Wulf 200 Condor and Ta 152.
After the WWII, he emigrated to Argentine, where he designed the first South American jet fighter, Pulquí II. He also lived some time in India before returning back to Germany in the late 1960s to work as a consultant for Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB, modern Airbus Industries).
