Simo Häyhä is the most successful single military sniper of all time. Have you ever heard about a sniper also nicknamed the "White Death"? Then you've heard of Simo.

The smiling man in the picture is one of the greatest and most famous snipers in history

Simo was nicknamed so for his white camouflage and mask he used to wear in combat. This famous marksman amassed at least 505 confirmed sniper kills during the Winter War between Finland and the Soviet Union. The most amazing thing is that Häyhä recorded all of his sniper kills without using an optic. His Mosin–Nagant rifle was equipped only with iron sights. Simo received numerous military awards, recovered from his injury and went on to live until 97. After the war he also became the only Finnish corporal to be promoted to second lieutenant. Finland had never seen such a jump in the ranks before.
