The head bartender on the long running 1977 - 1986 U.S. TV series "The Love Boat" was Isaac Washington. In the series, Theodore William "Ted" Lange (born January 1948) is the American actor who played Isaac.

During the run of "The Love Boat", Ted Lange was the director and screenwriter on several various episodes. In 1977, he wrote the popular screenplay for the drama "Passing Through", which starred Cora Lee Day and Marla Gibbs.

In 1999, Lange directed two episodes of "Love Boat: The Next Wave". This was a U.S. TV comedy series which was based on "The Love Boat" and aired on UPN from April 1998 to May 1999.

During the nine years of "The Love Boat", Isaac in the show and Ted behind the scenes both performed jobs that allowed them to be very clever, multidimensional, and at times amusing.
