General of the Army, Douglas Arthrur McArthur is this most highly decorated serviceman in the US military.

During his lifetime, MacArthur earned over 100 military decorations from the U.S. and other countries including the Medal of Honor, the French Légion d'honneur and Croix de guerre, the Order of the Crown of Italy, the Order of Orange-Nassau from the Netherlands, the Honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath from Australia, and the Order of the Rising Sun with Paulownia Flowers, Grand Cordon from Japan.

Colonel Robert Lewis Howard is also one of America's most heavily decorated serviceman in the modern military.

He was nominated three times for the medal of honor, and received the citation from President Johnson in 1968 as a 2nd Lt. for actions above and beyond the call of duty for his bravery in a search and rescue mission on November 16, 1967 as a Staff Sgt. with the Special Forces in Vietnam(his third nomination).

Lt. Audie Leon Murphy was the most decorated US Soldier in WWII, and received the Medal of Honor.

Staff Sgt. Joe Ronnie Hooper led a tumultuous career both with the US Navy, and then with the US Army, serving with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. He distinguished himself with several Article 15 hearings, was demoted to Corporal, was reinstated as a Staff Sgt., and received the Medal of Honor for his bravery in Vietnam.
