The President of Cuba during the Cuban Revolution was Fulgencio Batista. He was the elected President of Cuba from 1940 to 1944, and dictator from 1952 to 1959, before being overthrown during the Cuban Revolution.

Well-known Fidel Castro and Che Guevara were the leaders of the revolution. They had to make a reckless and dangerous move to change the situation in the country. This armed revolt was brought into life by the 26th of July Movement, created by Castro. The main thing the rebels were fighting with was the the U.S. backed authoritarian government of Cuban President Fulgencio Batista and his cruel and unprincipled actions.

When the revolution was coming to the end, the US policymakers had to stop supporting Batista. By February, 1959, Castro had become the Cuban Prime Minister. He later visited America and was greeted by people as a real hero, though many of them were strained, as they heard Castro was a communist.
