Alina Ctin, I took a shortcut. I think the way to do it in full form is to multiply 7 x -8 first. -56 Then, divide (wasn't it 64?) by 8. 8 Divide -56 by 8 -7 -7 squared is 49. The shortcut I saw was that the first number had to be multiplied by -8, and the next equation 64 divided by 8 is 8. So, multiplying and dividing the 7 by 8 does not even have to be done. They cancel. 7 squared is 49. I was excited to see that cancellation. Thank you, Christine, James' wife

William Laughlin, it's meant to be 7 multiplied by -8. The poor formatting of the questions makes it appear otherwise. The correct answer of 49 is among the options.
