mikeyparry, put it this way, would you say, "thing about it" or "think about it"?

mikeyparry, which demonstrates perfectly the reason for the questions! People mishear phrases so often, they become convinced that the version they say is correct. I'm an English teacher and I can tell you that the right answers are indeed, the right answers!

Alejandro Moncada Sucre, They mean two different things. "Another think coming" is the right answer here.

Chrissie, I live in New Jersey, USA. A child might say they will be having ice cream before dinner. The parent would respond that he has another thing coming. That would be ice cream after dinner, if at all. The phrase indicates that the thing the child wants will not be coming when he expects it, after all. Thank you, Christine, James' wife

Judy Codona, I am American and have always said another thing coming, so that if a person thinks they are doing well and expect a reward, or have a wish the other thinks is unreasonable, they have another thing coming. I am not certain if I ever heard think, and where. Thank you, Christine, James' wife
