Steve Tingle, That’s right. Looks like there’s a mistake in the question. “Invisible Man” (no “the”) was written by Ralph Ellison in the ‘50s. Two novels with completely different story lines.

Allison Aspden, The answer to the last question is not wrong. Yes, HG Wells did write a novel called The Invisible Man, but so did Ralph Ellison. Of the options given, Ellison is the only correct choice.
