earlepg, The candies pictured are called Smarties in Canada, U.K. and some other places. In the U.S. the name Smarties refer to a different candy.

Raven Koki, In some countries, Smarties are chocolate, coated with a candy shell. Canada is one, and some others.

Julie W. Bird, It's what they look like in some countries, including Canada. Here, Smarties are candy-coated chocolate. I know that, in the U.S., they are not.
