Why would I bother? Even if I got most or all questions correct I would probably be told I failed and that I should spruce up on my geography

hogwash... did the test twice, second time with a map in hand just to be sure I wasn't making some error. Both times with same - correct - answers and your response both times is that I need a bit more work. Come on, guys, I know the geography of my country, having lived in many areas of it from the Midwest to the West, and thanks to my kids and grandkids using an American map as a placemat for years. Just saying that the "test was successfully" passed in small print at the top of the share window doesn't always cut it. Give proper credit where credit is due!
