Which US states are home to these cities?

Had I not recognized it was a reverse state capital test I would have put Tennessee for Jackson and Louisiana for Atlanta.

R Yancey, but since they did not specify it had to be a capital, would they have marked it incorrect if you picked the other state, as at least several of them had two choices that would have technically been correct. I got them all right, because I went with the larger and more well known of each answer, but I wasn't actually looking for capitals. I don't know if they threw the others in to try to trip people up, or if they would have taken either answer, but at least this one turned out to be an interesting and decent quiz.

Roy Carlson, I noticed that. We have a Montpelier here in Virginia as well, and I hesitated for a minute, but then I figured that they probably wanted the one in Vermont instead of the other one, but if I had picked Virginia, it would not have actually been incorrect, since it didn't specify they had to be capitals. Of course, it could have been a trick answer, because the one in Virginia is not really incorporated, although it is a popular place.

They were obviously capitals but there are plenty of cities with correct names in other listed choices (Dover New Hampshire, for example) which could be correct answers. The question should be rephrased to say capitals

Unlike World Capitals, this was a legitimate quiz.

All cities were capital cities of U.S. states.

As question is which state not capital city therefore there is Jackson cit in Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri and Michigan I believe. I am from Tasmania ANF still scored 22 but did answer Tennessee to Jackson question.
