11/13. I have actually heard of some of these. Arsenic was used for a variety of beauty enhancements. Here in St. Louis at Bellefontaine cemetery there is an elaborate grave monument to a 19th century society belle who took arsenic to make her skin whiter, but also add a blush to her cheek. Because it was working well, she overdid it, but at least posterity got some nice funerary art out of it, complete with moral lesson engraved in the marble.

Always thought arsenic was a face makeup used to keep the complexion white,.until one died of poisoning. Certain wasn't hair removal. Also thought cocoa used on legs during the war. I also remember using eggwhite on my face, did a great job on wrinkles, just like botox, but 70's style. God I feel old.
